MARION SULLIVAN Peacefully in Calgary, AB on Saturday, July 21, 2001, after facing cancer the way she did all the challenges of her life - with determination and dignity. Marion was born in Portage in 1925, daughter of Douglas and Ottilie (Grahame) Yuill, but was raised by her aunt Catherine Metcalf, growing up like a sister to Kate and Evies daughter, Ottilie. In 1945 she married Pilot Officer Jack Sullivan, raising their three daughters and supported him in his military career until his early death from cancer in 1969. She is survived by longtime companion Uwe Rusch of Calgary; her three daughters, Ottilie, Kathy and Nicole; and five grandchildren, all in Ontario. She will also be deeply mourned by her half-sisters and half-brother, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends across Canada. A graveside memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20 at Hillside Cemetery in Portage la Prairie, followed by a reception in the Crocus Room in the Herman Prior Centre, Royal Road North.
